What an impressive Machu Picchu

Watching the documentary of Machu Picchu was so fantastic for me. This is the best documentary I've ever watched. I truly love it so bad because I like to know something about historical place that's why I took tourism major when I was in Jakarta. ^^

The only thing I could not enjoy was the listening part. Honestly, I am still working on it. However, I am still curious about who built this amazing place. The person who built this place must have been given a very amazing skill and awesome thought. I wish I will know the person someday. I was speechless when I watched how really neat the Inca made the terraces, the irrigation system, the water fountains and everything they in it.

Comparing modern people who use fancy machine who made buildings to the Inca people is nothing. Can you imagine how pretty clever they are in making Machu Picchu without using any technological tools in the past?

Well...talking about Machu Picchu is so exciting. It feel like you do not want to stop talking until you will be there and see this place with you opened eyes. There are some facts I wrote down about Machu Pichu.

1. There are 200 structures.
2. Some of the structures are houses and temples.
3. There are 10,000 networks are still available until now.
4. When the Inca built this place, they did not use iron, oil or any written language.
5. The Inca ruled over this place for 100 years then it was destroyed by diseases, civil wars, and the Spanish.
6. For almost 350 years an American had tried to find this place.
7. July 24 was the date when the first American finally step on this place.
8. According to anthropologist's result, there were about 80% of women's skeleton were founded in Machu Picchu.
9. Padayakta is the most important place where it supplies food for people.
10. Pachakuti was assumed as the person who built this place. He also was the 1st Inca emperor who gave ordered to build this place.
11. The Inca made 16 water fountain in Machu Picchu.
12. Although the Inca did not use iron, they transformed granit.
13. The king (Pachakuti) died in 1471. He was not buried because the Inca did not do that way. They mummified Him.
14. After Pachakuti died, everything was disorganized and his people collapsed.
15. When the Cusco festival will be held, people will carry the mummy of their king instead of the saints.

Questions:

1. How many strucures are there in Machu Pichu?
2. What are some of the sturctures?
3. How many networks that are still visible until now?
4. What are some tools that the Inca people did not used to build Mach Pichu?
5. How many years did the Inca rule over Machu Picchu and why were they destroyed?
6. How long did the American try to find Machu Picchu?
7. When was the exact date the American step on this place?
8. What kind of skeleton did the people find according to anthropologist's result?
9. Where is the most important place that supplies food for people?
10. Who was assumed that built this place?
11. How many water fountains did the Inca made?
12. What did the Inca transform?
13. For how many years that the stone are still solid?
14. Explain the situation of people's life after the death of Pachakuti?
15. What will the people carry on Cusco festival?

Well...Actually I have no idea what to say about the movies I just watched. Honestly that was jaded and kind of strange. I almost fall asleep. ^^

The man who is the main actor is a little bit insane for me. He is just like an adventurer who does not know what he wants to do. He might just want to spend the rest of his life with every interesting and adventurous thing. Something that made me shocked was his statement about he enjoyed his homosexual life. what kind of an old man is he?

On the other hand, there is something interesting part too about this movie. I learned about the Asmat tribe and Peruvian too. I realized that the Asmat did not eat human anymore. It only occurred in the past. Well...that was the good thing to know about them that they already improved from the way they are thinking and dressing.

In my opinion, this old man just wants to share his happiness and experience people's life. He is not a weird man at all; he is just trying to spend with his time with useful things.

There was a touching part from this movie. I like when they were sharing their happiness and remembering each other. Seeing them like that, made me think how to be more and more thankful about everything. Nice people, better life, wonderful family, food, drink, clothes, a comfortable house and the most important thing is health. Although this movie was a little tedious, I learned something. I will be learning a lot of things about life as long as I live. I also will be experiencing adventurous things later because I will never know what will happen tomorrow. Life is tough and full of mystery that we should face, but it will teach you how to be tougher, more wise, learn from your mistake and make a better decision about what you want to do. Thank you to my teacher who gave me to watch this movie. I learned something! ^^

Here, I am going to show you about Indian’s typical clothing and I do have some pictures of them.

There are six different parts of Indian’s clothing.

1. DHOTI

This is Indian’s traditional clothing for men. It is not like any other dresses because it is an unstitched piece of cloth that has 5 yards long, tied around the waist and legs. The knot is tied at the waist.

KURTA

In old times, this clothing was primarily worn by men, but it has become a unisex dress that men and women can wear this. This dress is a long loose shirt that falls below or above the knees.

INDIAN SARI Indian Sari

I have seen this typical clothing a lot especially in my country because there are a lot of Indians live in South Jakarta. Sari is one of the most fabulous dresses worn by Indian women. This dress is an unstitched piece of clothing. The length is usually four to nine meters long, but it depends on the style in which you want to cover it. Mostly, the Indian women wrap the Sari around the waist and ended cover it over to the shoulder and the chest

TURBAN

Well, I think this is not for women, but it is more like for men. It is tied not for the sake of fashion, but because it has a lot of significance in the live of Indians. It is worn on Indian’s men head. It is basically consist of a long piece of unstitched cloth that wrapped around the head.

Ok that’ s all I know about my super interesting country. I hope you guys can learn something.. See you on the next blog ^0^

Learn more about Turkmenistan..

Turkmenistan

(This was Turkmenistan's official flag of Russian Empire country)

(Turkmen SSR flag that used in independence day in 1991 until the new
one was adopted in 1992.)

( Flag that used from 1992-2001)

As you can see, there are 3 different versions of Turkmenistan’s flag. But, the one that they use is the green one. They put green and red color on this flag because the Turkmen have been respected historically by the Turkmen.

The moon symbolized the hope of the country that will be as a brighter country in the future.

The five stars represent five provinces which are; Ahal, Balkan, Dashhowuz, Lebap and Mary.

The shape that looks like a traditional old carpet that has five different shapes, means five major tribes or houses.

The last is the wreath. It represents the status of permanent neutrality that was accepted by the United Nations of General Assembly on December 12, 1995.

Let’s get started!!

Thinking about Turkmenistan is not far from war, dessert, hot weather; soldiers, gun, conservative and cultural country with lots of laws. There might be some criminal things that have occurred since in the past.

The Republic of Turkmenistan is also known as Turkmenia. This is a country that located in Central Asia. This country is still a part of Soviet Union until 1991. It is bordered with Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Caspian Sea.

Even though Turkmenistan are secured with the human rights and civil liberties in the constitution of Turkmenistan (such as sex equality, social equality, freedom to do cruel things and unusual punishment), the human rights are still become issues in the country. However they still have freedom of religion issues.

Turkmenistan’s desert is the driest one in the world. It is mostly subtropical with a little rainfall

On the other side, this county is the 52-nd largest country in the world. It is smaller than Spain but somewhat, it is larger than the United States or California.

Turkmenistan’s resources are gas, oil, energy and agriculture.

The Stoning of Soraya Movie

Watching the movie “The stoning of Soraya” made me cry a lot. It was totally a depressing, frustrating, and shocking. I couldn’t stand watching that movie. I have never thought that the culture of Iran was too cruel especially for a woman. I only knew if a wife cheats on her husband, the punishment would be cutting the fingers or she got abuse from her husband. Something that made me shock to was, when the journalist got the tape from the witness and started to publish the book, it did not work. There is still the stoning law in that country. There nothing people can change or do about this matter, but I hope someday there will be something development in this country. It does not even make sense to stone women when they cheat on their husband. Even their flesh and blood do stone women too. How can I say about this??

It supposed to be the men. There is still no justice in that country and people who do that, do not have a heart. However, I thankful to be in the country where I am living now and a country where I was born and came from.

Marriage in Israel

This is something I know about the marriage culture in Israel. According to the article that I read, Arab and Jewish marriage culture are often arranged, but unfortunately it is uncommon nowadays. There is a taboo for Jewish people; they are not allowed to do intermarriage. That would be illegal for them to marry with someone who is not a Jewish and this is so powerful social taboo in Israel. It is very unusual for an observant Jew to marry someone secular. About their law, it is legal to divorce, but Orthodox Jewish law unfortunately applies. This made me surprised when I read this because I was thinking that Jewish hold on their religion thing which is illegal to divorce. In this country, men have the power to prevent their ex-wife to re-marry to another man.

If the women still have a relationship, the courts refuse to accept it and their children will be considered illegitimate and they cannot marry at another state.
